I had no expectations, but I was hooked immediately. Great movie, based on a true story about nature, life, love and butterflies.

I gave the idea of this book to Tom Putnam many years ago @ 2005. I respected Tom as a filmmaker and wanted him to succeed even after his disastrous directing on a few films. We developed the film for a few years but other work got in the way, I even got REI involved early on. We had a falling out (which happens in indie filmmaking) and he ended up making the film without me. Tom, if you're listening you did absolutely the wrong thing here and you know it.

I'm sure the book is better than the movie.

Way too slow. "Wild" for old geezers in permanent slow motion.
